What is Kinetic Therapy?

Instrument assisted sports massage therapy is a form of sports massage using stainless steel, medical grade tools to get deeper into your muscles and
provide relief that other therapies cant.

Kinetic therapy is derived from the ancient Chinese medicine, Gua Sha, whereby small metal tools are used to bring blood the surface of the skin and
move toxins around the body. Kinetic therapy has taken this one step further, developing modern, top quality and purpose built tools to 'scrape' the muscle
fibres to break down scar tissue and remove adhesions.

Who am I?

Hi, i'm Mike!

I've been working as a Kinetic therapist since September 2024.

Prior to being a Kinetic therapist I worked in the fitness industry for 6 years, working with the general population
at a commercial gym before moving into a Crossfit gym and eventually ending up at two different specialist gyms.

I also played American football for Wolverhampton Wildcats, Chester Romans and Halton Spartans, after an injury
I started getting Kinetic therapy done and the difference it has made to my life, I quickly realised I wanted to be able
to offer the same relief to others. So I completed my course and the rest is history!

In short, yes, as with any deep tissue massage, there will be an element of pain involved. I often liken this to getting a tattoo. It is important to remember everyone reacts differently to the treatment and some will find the treatment relaxing. As a Kinetic therapist I aim to work within my clients pain thresholds and ensure I can get the most out of a treatment without putting my clients in too much pain.
The reddenning tends to go down within 24 hours, however the bruising may last at most, 4 days. Dependant on how you react to the treatment and which body parts are treated.
Absolutely! Even if you dont exercise or go the gym, you body will still become tight and build up scar tissue if you work a manual job or sit at a desk all day.
